Parcelforce is a part of Royal Mail
Royal Mail has separated into three divisions about 30 years ago. They rebranded Royal Mail Parcels as Parcelforce.
This division is small. About 5,000 people work in Parcelforce. However, Royal Mail a few years ago announced an investment of £75 million in Parcelforce Worldwide. For sure it is the important division for Royal Mail.
Parcelforce concentrates on time guaranteed, next day and two-day express deliveries.
Parcelforce will collect your parcel from you, or you can choose to drop off at over 11,000 Post Office® branches or one of their 54 depots.
Use Parcelforce to send parcels only
Parcelforce is a part of Royal Mail. While Royal Mail provides various services (Letters, Large Letters, Parcels), Parcelforce focuses on parcels only.
Royal Mail is better for sending small, lightweight parcels. You can send a 100-gram parcel for as low as about £3.50. At Parcelforce, you’d pay £16.68. That’s because Parcelforce has one price for parcels from 0 to 2kg.
Look at Parcelforce’s pricing for next day delivery:
Next delivery is not the only one option. You can choose from:
- Next day delivery by noon
- Next day delivery
- 2-day delivery
As you see, you should choose Parcelforce only for bigger, heavyweight parcels. You can, of course, mix these two carriers in your store. So, you’ll show only the one that’s cheaper your customer (or you can let customers decide).
With Parcelforce’s two-day delivery services, delivery time is guaranteed.
If your parcel doesn’t arrive by the stated time, they’ll refund 25% of the delivery cost.
Also, they cover you against loss or damage up to £100 per parcel. There are options to take out further compensation cover.
