What data we collect and why we do it

Orders

For the purpose of execution of orders, accounting as well as tax and legal issues, we collect personal data provided in the order form: name, surname, full address, e-mail address, optionally name of the company and tax ID number. These data are collected and processed in order to execute orders and meet tax requirements, e.g. we record the IP address in order to correctly calculate VAT for the client’s country.

Comments

If you decide to add a comment and provide the following data: nickname, name, surname, e-mail address and IP address, these data are collected and processed in order to carry out the comment services on the website – originally provided using the wpDiscuz service but secured also on our server. The IP address is processed for safety purposes and in order to eliminate possible abuse of the comment system.

Contact forms

If you decide to contact us via the contact form, support form or directly to our e-mail address, we will collect the provided data and process them to contact you and implement the service of technical support. The data will be recorded on our server and sent to the HelpScout system by means of which we provide the technical support service and contact our users.

Newsletter

You may subscribe to our newsletter using the form on our website, entering your e-mail address. The provided e-mail address will be used exclusively to send the newsletter via the GetResponse system. Your email address will be sent and processed by GetResponse. You can unsubscribe at any time from the newsletter, clicking the link available in every newsletter.

Embedded content from other websites

The articles on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). The embedded content from other websites behaves analogically to the situation when the user visits a given website directly.

These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, add other, external tracking systems and monitor your interactions with the embedded material, including tracking your interactions with the embedded material if you have an account and are logged in on that website (e.g. YouTube).

Analysis of statistics

Your data may be also collected and processed for the purposes of statistical measurements, e.g. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar, Heap Analytics, SatisMeter. The statistics obtained this way help us understand the needs of our clients better and improve our services.

NPS & feedback

If you decide to evaluate our plugin or app using the in-built NPS (Net Promoter Score) or CSAT (Customer Satisfaction Score) survey, answer the questions and provide us with your feedback, we would collect your IP address, name, email address, date, rating and the feedback’s content. Your rating will also be given a UUID (Unique User ID). The IP address is collected to determine the users’ country of origin in order to better understand their needs. The gathered rating and feedback serve to choose the direction of plugins’ and apps’ development, as well as to plan their further improvements. The data is being collected by our plugins and apps using the in-built NPS, however, it is saved and processed by the SatisMeter for analytical purposes. Your personal data might be also collected by 3rd parties, such as Smartlook.com, s.r.o., VAT ID No.: 095 08 830. Smartlook collects the user interaction recordings in Octolize Demo environment for the purpose of UX research and behavior analysis for further improvements to our solutions. No sensitive data is collected, nor the recordings published.

Shopify apps

Personal Information gathered by the App


By its very nature, the Shopify App installation automatically grants us access to certain types of information we collect regarding your Shopify account. You can find all this information listed in detail here. We do not place cookies, collect any information about your customers and their behavior, nor use any other tracking technologies for additional data gathering.

How do we use your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from your Shopify account in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to communicate with you, provide customer support when you contact us, optimize or improve the App, as well as provide you with information, advertising and marketing related to our products or services.

Who we share the data with

To offer the service and run the company, we share the personal data in order to perform services necessary to conduct the business. As regards administration, the recipients are, for instance, our employees, accounting office. In terms of technology, they include Google, Facebook, Twitter, wpDiscuz, SiteGround, The Camels, HelpScout, Postmark, SatisMeter. Each of these entities receives only as much personal data as it needs to provide its service. We cooperate with entities applied updated rules of processing of personal data, adjusted to GDPR, fulfilling the criterion of the so-called Trusted Partners. Part of the personal data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area which results from localization of the data processing centers of those companies, however, always according to the EU rule of transferring the personal data from the European Union to the USA based on the so-called Privacy Shield.

How long we store your data

We will store your data only for the time for which we will have the legal basis for it, that is until:

  • the legal obligation to process your data expires (especially connected with accounting),
  • your objection against processing of your personal data is accepted – in the case when the legal basis for processing of your data was the legitimate interest of the data controller,
  • you withdraw your consent to process data if processing was based on it.

What rights you have in connection with your data (GDPR)

If you have the user’s account, placed orders, subscribed to the newsletter or posted comments on this website, you may request to be provided with a file containing an exported package of your personal data in our possession, including all data provided by you. You may also request us to correct or delete all your personal data in our possession, as well as restrict the processing of your personal information and withdraw your consent at any time when the processing relies upon consent. This does not regard any data we are obliged to keep due to administrative, legal or safety reasons.
