Basically, products in the cart are matched to selected types of packages from the smallest ones. The plugin calculates quantity and types of packages, and then get live rates shipping costs directly from UPS API. Information about box packing will be displayed in the order edit page in WooCommerce.

Multiple box packing configuration

First, you have to configure the plugin, by connecting it to UPS API. Don’t know how to do it? Read about configuring WooCommerce UPS integration. Then you can choose UPS packages that you want to use in the specified shipping method. Complete list of UPS packaging types you’ll find in official UPS site. If you use only selected UPS packaging types, limit them and only these will be used for box packing.

It’s very important to also enable Fallback. In the same window, enable fallback in Fallback field and set the Fallback Cost. That shipping cost will be applied if there are no UPS services available or the plugin detects some error.

UPS Live Rates - set fallback

Last thing is to set dimensions and weight of all products in your WooCommerce store. If they won’t be set, the plugin will use the fallback cost of shipping. If the ordered product exceeds the dimensions of the package, the plugin will throw fallback (if it’s set up).
